Masdar City

Masdar city is a cool city will be launched in Abu Dhabi as Sultan Al Jaber announced, this city will cost almost around US$22 billion to build it. This city will have a good transportation that will fit to the environment and won’t pollute it.

This city will provide its citizens with 70,000 jobs so that they can find a job to live with, also this city will reduce around 75% of power capacity and the water will be decreased to almost 8000 m3 per day. As this city is a cool city, there will be no landfills in this city, which it protects it from pollution.

Masdar city has seven steps to follow, the first step the city will be following is the institute of science and technology that will be open in 2009, this cool city is mainly completed on 2016, hopefully!

Abu Dhabi has already invested almost US$15 billion to provide the technologies in Masdar city.

Cool City.

Since the industrial revolution the carbon dioxide increased big time .The cool city a new invention to decrease the CO2 at least 50%.

SDCJ is building a cool city that will mainly focus on decreasing the carbon dioxide. One of the reasons that the CO2 is increasing is the building and transportation which make up a total of 90% of carbon emission.

The cool city has many zones such as residential zone, public zone, resort zone and many other zones in the city, as it is mentioned in the movie the city is 2 km in diameter. The cool city is planning to reduce the CO2 by five different counter measures of traffic and they are monorail stations, light rail stations, water transportation, hybrid car parking area and also the pedestrian decks. The buildings will be eco – towers with new technology.

This city is one of the dreams that will help our Earth, and it will help us to live with healthiness.

Critical Thinking

This is a summary of a presentation I read. It is about the critical thinking, what is critical thinking, who are critical thinkers and why is it important.

Summary

Critical thinking stands for the way that people think of something, and how this thing happens and what if something change what will happen to this thing. It is obvious that critical thinking needs a high process, realizing and getting possible outcomes. In order to think you will have to check your beliefs and opinions, and to be a critical thinking, listening should be a habit to you, because you will judge and reply on others’ statements and not to misjudge.
Critical thinkers are able to create other explanations, also looking for various points of views; also critical thinkers should be able to think in many different ways about a topic. Critical thinkers shall have wisdom, think without limits, as we think we do evaluation, examination and improving thoughts.

The taxonomy that blooms did was built on steps that were based on the increase from simple to complicated situations, and each level is related to the previous level. Critical thinking is important for us for many reasons such as in reading, writing and listening.
Critical thinking is for all thinkers, which includes; students, doctors, nurses and every occupation in this world.

In the end, Critical thinkers are everybody that step on this world.

Global Warming

I recently watched the movie " An Inconvenient Truth " and I made a short summary about the movie and what this movie talks about.







Summary



Global Warming is one of the main problems in the world that the ex-vice president of United states Al Gore discussed in his movie “ an inconvenient truth “.


Al Gore discussed about the climates change and what it causes when it changes, he also mentioned one example and it was about the river which it was a side of nature beauty. As we know, global warming causes a lot of problems to the nature such as melting the ice in the world and that will raise the percentage of the water in the world and that will cover the lands in the world and make the flood and many animals in the poles will be in danger.


This movie show that the man is responsible of the global warming, such as driving cars give out CO2 and it is one of the causes for global warming, places had changed because of the global warming such as lakes and rivers and what are the problems that the people who live near to them face.


In the end, Al Gore showed the possible solutions for solving and decreasing the global warming.

Carbon Footprints

I summarized this article about the Carbon footprint

Every product has a carbon footprint; carbon footprint means the sum of CO2 and decreasing it reduce the affects of global warming. There are two ways to count carbon footprints, first is by emissions and the other one is by the fossil fuels.



The number of carbon footprints can be calculated with many ways, one way is to count by each person carbon footprint, the second one is by the countries.



The greenhouse gases have things to do with the carbon footprint for example the ozone, methane and nitrous oxide. Although we use the carbon footprints to power up our daily life, we should understand what our carbon footprints are so we can reduce it, and there are many ways to decrease it.



In conclusion, there are ways to find out some information to understand what is carbon footprints which will help to reduce it.
